WHITE WATER RAFTING

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Pacuare River:

The Pacuare river with its rapids crosses the tropical "primary" forest, not touched by man: eighteen miles (30 kilometers) full of tropical life that appears unexpectedly will sep you on a continuous look but for the next rapids which appear. Through the dense wall of vegetation on the banks you will be looking for the life of the forest and observing the "raucous" flight of birds.

The two days tour includes the experience of spending the night in a camp ground in comfortable tents equipped with wood floors, bathrooms and showers, fully equipped dining room and an excellent view of the Pacuare River. You will enjoy an excellent supper.

IRAZÚ VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK, LANCKASTER GARDENS AND OROSI VALLEY

TOUR DESCRIPTION

One of the largest craters in the world will carry you away to a moonscape land surrounded by the green area of tropical zones. With a little luck if its clear morning you will be able to see the two oceans (with only a slight movement of your head) from the top of Irazú. This is the famous sacred mountain of the earliest natives.

A visit to Lankaster Gardens offers you the most all inclusive collection of tropical plants and orchids from Costa Rica's diverse floral culture. This is a place you must visit to enjoy and learn about the bio diversity of the Central America tropics.

The tour included shorter visits to the plantation of coffee, chayote (a vegetable) and other tropical crops along the way. Hidden in the distance the vast open area of the Reventazon river basing waits for you as well as the historic town of Orosi with its ancient church. The church is now a museum of 250 years builtt by Spanish monks of colonial times. You will pass by the lake wicht forms the Cachi dam to complete this scenario of multiple landscapes, tropical life and history.

The Poas Volcano is considered one of the most spectacular and most beautiful in the world. No mere description can equal the extraordinary experience you will have in this magical place where is full of enchantment of tropical nature in its most beautiful setting.

The tour will take you through the picturesque green countryside of Central Valley, small agricultural towns, extensive sugar cane and coffee fields, modern's hot houses of tropical plants for export and superb milk cattle farms form an unusual landscape.

The Cascade Park with a butterfly and hummingbird's garden, a path through the tropical bush and several small and beautiful cascades will surprise you in your walking tour.

ARENAL VOLCANO and TABACON WARM SPRINGS

DESCRIPCIóN

We will come for you very early to take you to La Fortuna de San Carlos. The tour begins an soon as you get into the bus. At you look out the Windows, you will see a landscape typical of the Valle Central green hills, coffee plantations, and small towns crouched up against the mountains. Then suddenly the vast panorama of the northern plains opens of before your eyes.

You will travel around Arenal lake and see the Arenal Volcano, the most active and spectacular volcanic "cone" in Costa Rica. Trembles incessantly and once in while lava spills.

In the afternoon you can enjoy the warm springs of Tabacon. The river of warm waters comes down from the Arenal Volcano and is transformed into scenario of waterfalls, river branches and pools.

At night there wait you the most extraordinary spectacle. This colossal volcano offers the viewer orange lines mark the descent of igneous rocks and rumbling fires unfold against the sky crowning the mountain as by magical devices. Afterwards, you will return to the hotel in your very comfortable bus.

INBIO Park and cable car in the Caribbean Rain Forest

DESCRIPCIóN

INBIO Park is the gateway to the Costa Rica National Parks and protected areas. Scientists and guides who are specialist guide you through the complex fascinating plant/animal setting of tropical Central America.

While wandering through the pathways you will find a vast composition of flora and fauna even the habitat of forest animals, before and in the mountains and in the drier areas. You will see deers, iguanas, butterflies, frogs. Slots and turtles- all almost within reach of your hand. The organic farm and the lagoon (whose depths we shall see through a window beneath the water along with a video on the bio. Diversity of Costa Rica) complete the tour to a tropical world.

After lunch in the INBIO Park restaurant "Heliconias" we shall travel for 50 minutes to a private farm in Braulio Carrillo National Park where the rain forest cable-car is located.

After a 15 minutes video an expert naturalist guide escorts us on a 45 minutes walk trough pathways where we learn about nature as it is at the base of the forest. Later we shall ride in the comfortable cable cars through the forest canopy and its hanging gardens. What unforgettable experience learning about the complexity and beauty of a fragile and diverse eco-system which we MUST conserve!

CARARA BIOLOGICAL PRESERVE

DESCRIPTION

These 4,700 hectares preserve the majority of primary "wetland" forest along the Costa Rican Pacific Coast. It is surrounded by farms mostly dedicated to the agriculture of rice, oil producing palm trees and cattle. This protected area is a magical place of rich bio diversity.
